Hi Dr. T, I'm suffering from tension headaches in the frontal lobe of my head. On top, across my forehead and a tightness around my eyes. My eyes feel like they are pulled back into my head and they are sticky around them. I would like to know what is the most effective medication to treat this, would it be Amitriptyline? Remeron? Effexor? or other? I have been reading your book pain free 123. I have shown to have low testosterone? And also dry skin on my forehead, dandruff in my hair and eyebrows. I do bloat alot after eating and I have a white furring on my tongue. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Also should I be doing low exercise?

Answer

Dandruff is a fungal condition, and in those with fibromyalgia or pain, I will use the treat with 6 weeks of Diflucan on the concern of fungal overgrowth of Candida in the intestines. For tension headaches, using a menthol cream such as Tiger Balm over the temples can be helpful, as can the herbal, such as Willow bark, Boswellia, and curcumin. Also a good massage, or chiropractic adjustment . In terms of medications, I would like to begin with, Skelaxin, or Tylenol, rather than medications like amitryptaline or Remeron, which all have side effects, including dry eyes. In addition, optimizing testosterone levels can help with. The headaches and other symptoms as well, and I usually aim for a total testosterone level about 750 in men (adjusted based on the free testosterone).
