Releasing Old Traumas in Fibromyalgia (Part 1)
Vitality101 Newsletter
It may seem like there haven't been many newsletters over the last few months. It's because I'm working on three new books, with two of my publishers having asked for new editions of From Fatigued to Fantastic! and Real Cause Real Cure within a few weeks of each other! I also just finished a third book on a remarkable new form of ginseng (more on that soon :-)
I also have four new fibromyalgia treatment studies in the works, two of which can be done by you at home if you'd like to participate. I hope to be launching them in about six weeks, so stay tuned!
All this while treating patients, several trips on the lecture circuit, and seeing to my kitty cat's needs. OK, enough about me. Let's move on to this week's topic ...
Releasing Old Traumas
Most of us have suffered some forms of traumas in our lives. For example, seeing a truck about to hit you in your rearview mirror, or an alcoholic parent about to do the same when you were a child. Feel all of those tight muscles? Much of that is from going into "freeze" mode when we suffered a trauma where we couldn't fight or run.
Have you ever wondered where the "disturbing energy" you experienced from those traumatic events went? The truth is that many of us still carry it inside, long after the event occurred. So how do you release these old energies, so you can be free of them?
In upcoming newsletters, I will discuss four techniques that can be powerful in ridding yourself of the old traumatic energies you might have inside. But I want to start with a critical area. Forgiveness.
You may think I'm speaking about forgiving others. And yes, that's part of it. But I want to discuss an even more important kind of forgiveness. That of forgiving yourself. Forgiving yourself for a mistake you've made is an act of letting go that can sometimes seem very hard to do. Yet it's important to your wellbeing and it can be much easier to do than you might imagine.
The Magic Words
Have you ever been in Hawaii and felt the Aloha spirit? It stems from ancient Hawaiian tradition. Using four simple sentences, repeated to yourself during periods of discomfort, can be magical. It's an approach that my dear friend, Jon Lovgren, used with his daughter to help her recover from fibromyalgia. And you'd be surprised at how effective it is!
I'm honored this week to share an article written by Jon in how to use this ancient Hawaiian practice. It's also the subject of a wonderful book he wrote called The Magic Words (available on Amazon and possibly the best $3.50 you'll ever spend!).
Jon's article is below. It's followed by a second article written by his daughter, Carissa, in which she shares her story of using those magic words to help her recover from fibromyalgia.
The Ancient Hawaiian Practice of Ho'oponopono Helps Heal Fibromyalgia!
— By Jon Lovgren
What is ho'oponopono? It is an ancient Hawaiian practice of forgiveness. It teaches us that we are 100 percent responsible for everything in our lives—always have been, and always will be. This does not mean that it is our fault, or that we should blame ourselves. It simply means we have the ability to change our situation.
