Berry, Berry Good for Your Heart
In a recent study published in Circulation, women who ate at least three servings of blueberries or strawberries every week had a 34% lower risk of heart attack than women who ate them only rarely. That rate correlates with three times the effectiveness of statin medications in protecting your heart! So having a handful of berries with your breakfast cereal could be quite a 'hearty' way to start your day! (And don't forget to snack on an ounce of dark chocolate later in the day, and have a glass of red wine at dinner — two other delicious, heart-healthy treats!)
